I have a small christmas tree that comes with pre lit lights that i want to put out this christmas on a plot at the cemetery. We could run a really long cord from an outlet in the garage which is all the way inside by the inside do. Put a nail or an s hook on the ladder so you can hang your tote bucket. Fi and i are living in the top half of a duplex with a great upper porch and i d really love to hang christmas lights around the railing but i just went outside to check and there s no way for me to get power out there to light them no porch light no outlet nothing.

The tree comes with a plug but i don t have a clue how to go about it. There are two ways to power outdoor christmas lights that illuminate the exterior of your house. You can either run a power strip off the porch light outlet adapter or you can run the cord out of the window by using some insulation weather stripping which u can buy at home depot or something. Some of our neighbors screw a socket with outlet into their porch lights but ours is enclosed and there is no room.

If you work alone use a basket or bucket with a handle to haul your materials up and down. Outdoor lighting requires a lot of lifting careful placement and aligning which is much easier to do with a helper or two. Since a lot of you seem to be all excited about decorating for christmas i pose a problem. You can also augment these power supplying methods by using lights that do not run on electric power.

Does anyone know how i can go about using a portable solar panel that s also battery operated to connect to my tree. Use a reliable sturdy ladder and get a helper if you can.
