A flexible grout can take some movement without cracking and failing. This method is effective in sealing the crack in concrete but it will not structurally bond cracked sections. Also there is usually a significant amount of grout that is forced outside between the wall and the ground to fill voids and make an additional water barrier. Epoxy crack injection utilizes epoxy grout to structurally weld cracks to permanently restore the integrity of a structure.

The injection of a cement based grout is a widely used and well known method of lifting concrete slabs that have settled. Cement grouting for cracks in concrete and masonry wide cracks particularly in mass concrete abutments piers and masonry substructures can be repaired by filling with portland cement grout. The process of grouting of concrete cracks is repeated with other holes till all the holes are covered. On the day of grouting all the plugs are removed to drain out excess water and restored before commencing grouting.

This procedure which is often referred to as pressure grouting or slab jacking can be a great alternative to replacing existing concrete slabs. When a high pressure pump is used a higher quality and more flexible grout can be used.
